Bio Stimulants

Triacontanol

Triacontanol has many documented beneficial effects on plant growth including improved photosynthesis in both light and dark conditions, and nutrient uptake, higher Brix levels, increased cell division and CO² fixation.

It elicits formation of a naturally occurring form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate). This creates a cascade of metabolic events within the plant resulting in increases in soluble protein, reducing sugars, cell division and dry weight. Further research tells us that this ATP creation does not occur with synthesised Triacontanol. Plants obtain energy by trapping sunlight but before it can be used it must be transformed into a form the plant can handle easily. This energy carrier is adenosine triphosphate. The ATP molecule acts as a “battery”, storing energy when it is not needed b but able to release it instantly when the organism requires it.

Improved Brix levels in fruit and vegetables assist with sweeter fruit, tastier vegetables and a better shelf life. For the farmer they indicate denser pasture with better palatability and improved mineral and vitamin levels.

Giberellic Acid

The giberellins are widely distributed in all plants and are often used in horticulture to promote early and even seed germination and to facilitate flower and fruit set. Giberellic acid tends to elongate plant cell size, so when used in conjunction with Triacontanol the plant enjoys increased cell mass and strength.

Its all very well supplying the plant with bio stimulants and ask it to perform better, but to sustain growth the plant requires nutrients to feed the process and we regard it as essential that these bio stimulants are used in conjunction with a balanced fertiliser, preferably organic in its action, to provide the range of nutrients and associated growth substances to sustain the increased growth.

No bio stimulant is a magic pill in itself. We believe strongly that the soil supporting the plant should have a reasonable pH, a thriving population of soil micro-organisms, be rich in humus, and that this must be achieved so that bio stimulants can play their part.
